Chinese New Year YEAR OF THE RAT!!!
Experience this Chinese New Year with us. We hold a
variety of events to celebrate the most colourful Chinese
festival on the Lunar Calendar.
Chinese New Year (春節, 農曆新年)
is celebrated on the first day of the first month of
the Lunar Calendar (this year it falls on February 7,
2008). New Year’s Eve and New Year day is celebrated
as a family affair, a time of reunion and thanksgiving.
The New Year season lasts fifteen days. The first three
days are the most important and most often celebrated
with visits to friends, family as well as greetings
of good luck. The seventh day traditionally is everyone's
birthday, the day when everyone grows one year older.
The celebrations end on the important and colourful
Lantern Festival on the evening of the 15th day of the
new moon.
